NCS Summer Programme

« Back to What's On // July - August 2017

NCS returns to Central Hall for six weeks worth of activities, workshops, demonstrations and charitable planning...

The National Citizen Service gives young people aged between 15 and 17 years old the opportunity to make a real impact on their local community, all whilst experiencing a summer of exciting adventures and challenges.

Students will take part in a 5 day residential away from home, where they'll they get the chance to do activities such as canoeing, rock climbing and abseiling. They'll also be able to experience a 5 day stay in a uni-style environment, where they'll learn all about developing their leadership and employ-ability skills.

During July and August groups from Southampton, supported by Youth Options, will be based at Central Hall whist they plan and deliver social action projects, as well as taking part in talks and demonstrations from industry professionals, employers and a whole host of other organisations. This is then followed up by a glamorous graduation ceremony in our Main Hall to celebrate all their achievements and new found friends made over the summer.
