Car park charges apply in Southampton seven days a week. The city centre has a mix of off-street surface and covered car parks and on-street parking bays. Charges and stay times are clearly displayed on signs within the car parks or on pay-and-display machines.
On-street parking and off-street surface parking is paid for via pay-and-display machines, where you find a parking space then purchase and display a ticket for the time required. Off-street multi-story parking is paid for via pay-on-foot machines, where you find a parking space and pay for the time used on return to the car park. In addition to car parks provided by Southampton City Council, there are also car parks provided by private operators. Stay times and charges will be displayed within the car parks.
Southampton City Council car parks are open 24 hours a day.
Charges apply: Mon-Sat 8am-8pm; Sun 12noon-6pm.
Multi-Storey car parks are open Mon-Sat 8am-midnight, and Sun 12noon-midnight.
Charges apply when open; overnight charges apply from 6pm-midnight.
For privately owned car parks, check the signs in the appropriate car parks.
